M4 Sciences was co-founded in December 2005 by principal investors, Mr. James Mann and Mr. Brian Gootee. Mr. Jeffrey Bougher joined M4 Sciences in January 2007. All three are Indiana natives who have a long-term commitment to commercializing advanced manufacturing technology while creating an “environment of organizational passion for manufacturing.” Together, they lead M4 Sciences with a combined 25+ years of university education and 40+ years of professional business experience, including strategic management, financial analysis, sales and marketing, operations, finance, product design, manufacturing, engineering, quality control, and research. Mr. Mann earned his MS from the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics at Purdue University and and MBA in Finance from Indiana University Kelley School of Business. He is presently completing his doctorate in Engineering at Purdue University School of Industrial Engineering [completing in 2007]. Mr. Gootee holds a bachelor’s degree from University of Indianapolis and is a successful entrepreneur and owner of a retail and commercial cyclery and fitness equipment business base in Indianapolis, IN. Mr. Bougher holds an MS from the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics at Purdue University and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management and an ME from the McCormick School of Engineering at Northwestern University.

James B. Mann (CEO/President)
Mr. Mann held several industrial positions in a 15 year career with successful development and implementation of new technology at Thiokol Corp., Cummins Inc., and Showers Group Inc. to verify product designs and establish manufacturing systems for component machining and product assembly. In addition, he has co-led several patent applications for Purdue University Center for Materials Processing and Tribology. Mr. Mann also led the design and development of M4 Sciences modulation drilling device.

Brian D. Gootee (COO/Vice President)
Mr. Gootee led the growth of small businesses in a 15 year career in the cyclery and fitness equipment sales business. He is president and owner of Gray Goat Sports, Inc. based in Indianapolis, IN. He has successfully developed and led business restructuring and expansion and developed new marketing strategy. In addition, his experience includes development of sales models and pricing structures in both retail and commercial sectors.

Jeffrey A. Bougher(CFO)
Mr. Bougher has held important roles in manufacturing strategy and financial analysis in a 10 year career at Caterpillar, Inc. and Timken Company. Mr. Bougher is currently Plant Manager and Director of Manufacturing at Timken and brings M4 Sciences progressive senior management experience with significant achievements in operations strategy and financial analysis. He will oversee M4 strategic finance for the Company and co-lead the development of the M4 Sciences business structure.
